How men and women differ in the work place was our topic for interview this week. My interviewee is a female and currently isn't working but with good reason. Her last job was at a Mexican restaurant where she worked about three days a week and made pretty good money. She stated how she had no choice but to quit. From what I got was that she was feeling uncomfortable with comments that her boss was telling her. Her boss was an older married man and would tell her inappropriate things while she was working. Though she did seem to enjoy her job and made good money doing it I don't think she morally felt right about it. We both had similar job situations. Both working at a Mexican restaurant. We talked about how the servers were mostly women and bartenders were typically men. We came to the conclusion that the possible reasoning behind the distinct gender job differences was because those who tend to sit at the bar drink more and fearing that women wouldn't be able to handle over intoxicated men the way another man could maybe that was the reason behind it. Over all we could relate to one another in a sense that even when you didn't show up to work all dolled up and ready to mingle with the customer you were expected to because your job was to serve drinks and with that and the fact that we are females it's as if there's some unwritten part of the job description that flirting is a must.
