I conducted an interview to a 21 year old single female. In summary I told her about the article that I had read. The article was about : "What part does religion play in Gender roles at Work?" The author in this article at first gives an example about how men are confident of themselves and they are more likely to apply for a high paying job even if they don't have the qualities to qualify for that job, whereas women think that they're not qualified, and they think about their family and see if it' the right time for them to apply for that job, and they end up not applying since they think that they don't even have the chance to get hired. According to the author, the reason why women can't get ahead in their job and careers is because of religion. In the minds of men and women God has created women as secondary and subservient to the men. I asked my interviewee if she agrees with this article. According to my interviewee , No God did not create women to become slaves to their husband and their families. She believes that this problem s because of old mentality and the word is changing nowadays. She believes that more women are qualified to high paying positions than men, and women are seeking for equality. Women are going after their jobs. My interviewee strongly believes that Go has created both men and women equally. Religion does not say that women need to be slaves to their husbands and families.
