Based off of what I told my interviewee about a recent article that I have read about gender and religion and a secret cult in Manhattan, my interviewee stated that the cult's ideas are "ridiculous." My interviewee stated that The Light, the name of this group, is trying to base their ideas and "blind faith" off of ideas that were dated back from as far as four hundred years ago. He also went on to explain that some of their beliefs, such as the prohibition of homosexuality, "will never work," because homosexuality has started to become socially acceptable in today's society. The fact that everything that The Light group members belief is all off of "word of mouth," my interviewee argues that the group is not legit. He said that it lacks facts and anything scientific that would back up their beliefs. The idea of "humans once lived on the Moon" and that the members came from " a master Aryan race" was viewed as "ridiculous" in my interviewee's eyes. Overall, while my interviewee saw the article as "interesting," he declared the ideas of The Light to be "ridiculous" and stated that he expects the group to fail later on down the road.
