In my interview I discussed if men and women are treated equally in religion, and my interviewee said yes and no. He said that women are treated unequally, but that men and women experience religion the same. We also discussed how in general there would also be inequality in religion, because one gender would be favored more or have more power than the other , even if just by a little bit. It is religion that creates inequality, and how religion is interpreted that allows it to continue. the scriptures are old and written so long ago, that they were the old way of thinking yet they still dictate our lives, and how gender is interpreted in religion. These are te old ways of doing things, which is why women are still treated unequally.
