I interviewed a 27 year old male from Fresno. I had found an article from ABC news regarding a school age girl from Arizona that had written a letter to the Dicks Sporting company regarding their recent basketball catalogue. The little girl was upset that there were no women athletes represented in the entire catalogue, the only girl being pictured was in the audience of one advertisement and there were cheerleaders pictured on the coupons. The little girl wrote to the company with her concerns and about how girls can play basketball; she plays for teams and is a big women's basketball fan. The interviewee was supportive of the young girl for speaking out for what she thought was right as well as her father who supported her and got the letter out to the public via is Twitter feed. The interviewee remarked on how the media can be directly reached these days through the use of sites like Twitter and Facebook and people should take advantage of it. The interviewee mentioned that without it the letter would probably stop at the regional level and not get the traction it deserves.
