class m/w @ 5:30-6:45

Margaret Klassen

I see gender "done" all the time in my everyday life. The biggest instance is my own life, I am a female and so I am expected of course to work and go to school , but I also get to come home and complete the second shift. My husband works and take a class or two and when he gets home he excepts me to cook and have the house clean while he gets to just sit around and watch t.v. Another example is my in-laws the mother cooks and cleans the whole house while the father watches t.v. and drinks beer , sure he mows the law and trims some of the bushes, but he usually just sits around. In my husbands family the women do all the cooking and cleaning , while the men do the yard work.

  1. I absolutely agree with your views of what a woman and a mans place is in the home, and that the parents also fall in the same lines. I too, have the same situation (means of living) in my household. I guess it is true of the saying..."A womans work is never dine".
