When I asked my interviewee to rate the traits as relatively masculine or feminine on a 100 point scale with 100 being feminine 50 being half and 0 being masculine it became a little difficult to keep track so she was simply answering using masculine feminine or 50/50.
some of her responses were what you would expect from society to answer like athletic, assertive and forceful being masculine and happy, theatrical, and sensitive to other's needs being feminine. There were several responses like jealous, secretive, and truthful that fell in the middle when I asked the interviewee why she thought that jealous was both feminine and masculine she responded by saying because women are jealous too. If we look back in society when women didn't have a voice and male dominance was the social norm then some of these responses would have been either all masculine or all feminine with nothing falling down the middle.
