Take back the Night was a wonderful event. Personally it was an eye opener. This was the first time I have heard somebody speak about there experience of being rapped. The event was successful it was a huge turn out of students. Before the speakers spoke they was many booths around the free speech area with information about rape. What I also liked was the facts they had written on the ground with chalk. Overall I enjoyed the event happy that I was there to experience that.

It was a fantastic gesture of solidarity to see so many people rally in support of eliminating the rape culture that plagues so many college campuses. I shared a similar response into hearing the stories shared by victims - to allow one self to be completely emotionally exposed takes a considerable amount of courage. Letting those stories out enabled the victim to share the burden of recovery with those who have never had such an experience and hopefully mitigate the psychological implications they endured. I really wish more people spoke openly about their ailments with complete strangers. Humans by nature are social creatures, completely reliant on others for survival yet I feel we tend to overlook the importance of these interpersonal connections.
